Name: The Spirit Doorway
Type of Art: Sculpture
Series: Revenant Series
Size: 12" x 9" x 1"
The Spirit Doorway is a portal between the physical and the spiritual. Each doorway is jealously warded by Guardian Faeries. These primordial warriors will allow spirits departing from this world to cross over, but only those with the proper knowledge are allowed to return. The wooden arches on either side of the doorway are living pieces of the world tree and have their roots on both sides of the gateway. The symbols around the doorway are faerie symbols that help ward the doorway from undesirables.
These tiny doorways are placed on an interior or exterior wall of a home or business to allow spirits trapped in this world the ability to cross over. They are both good luck and protection from evil spirits through the powers of the guardian faerie.
This piece uses Mississippi River Driftwood. It is the prototype sculpture in the Revenant series and is listed as #0. It was created in 2015 by Assimilation Artist Grey Cross in the city of New Orleans. This piece includes a certificate of authenticity and is also signed on the back.
