I can't even explain how frightened people were at this time. We'd had 3 years to let the devastation of Katrina fix itself in our psyche's. While Gustav in no way caused the destruction of Katrina, none of us could help but be shaken up. So many people, including this woman had returned hesitantly home after Katrina, hoping there would never be another like her.
The idea of just finally beginning to create some normalcy again throughout the city and knowing it may have all been for nothing was more than some people could handle.
