David Gerard worked for 15 years as a reporter and opinion editor for the Muskogee Phoenix newspaper in Muskogee, OK, and retired in 2010. He is also a novelist and artist, and began drawing political cartoons with the election of Donald Trump as a way of expressing his disgust with that election and the subsequent insult to our national character. He has continued posting daily cartoons on his website since the fall of 2016.
