The Katrina Portraits (Faces) - Naïveté

The Katrina Portraits were originally done in 2015 for the 10th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. In 2020 those portraits are being re-imagined. Click the index link at the bottom to read complete information on this art project.

There is a lot of Naïveté in this city, both among its residents and even more so among its tourists. The night before Katrina we saw so many scenes like this one, of casual disregard by younger folk that there was anything to fear. They were better than any damn storm and wrapped in the immortality of youth. There was nothing to fear.
