The Lust of Medusa is a transmogrified piece of art.
Transmogrification is the act of taking old art that is broken, discarded or damaged and re-imagining it into something new. Anything can be subjects to transmogrification with the only rules being that the original piece began as art and that the changes you make upon are it substantially alter it.
The bust was found at an estate sale. The original bust was in good shape although it had never been completed into a piece of art. The womans head was replaced with that of a skull and snakes added to it to replace her hair as well as other accoutrements. The color was added in 4 phases and a triple glaze added to complete the piece.
