Night Howl (What We See - What We Imagine) #2

 

I traveled around the country for many years. I never saw the world as it was, but as I imagined it to be. The Badlands of South Dakota made a major impression on me. It was like being transported back to the beginning of time. I took this photo just before the sun set. I remember sitting out all night with these mountains in the distance, nothing but the moon to light the scene. But I was not thinking about the past, I thought about the future. Would it be the same? Would it all be gone? Would we forget this beauty?
